BENEFITS OF ACTIVE RECOVERY
Each week on Thursdays our members will have the option to attend our weekly Active Recovery Program. Yoga is included in our packages, however some of this program is a part of SELECT packages and we have wanted to provide it to work on flexibility, mobility, and injury prevention. We believe health is more than the workouts you attend, but a series of different activities that promote health and wellness. By approaching health from a holistic stance, our members learn the value in each aspect of health.
INJURY PREVENTION YOGA
Beyond the achieving new levels of fitness, yoga has many benefits that help our members in their daily life. Many studies have accredited yoga for reducing stress and anxiety, reducing inflammation in joints, promoting sleep quality, and improving breathing.
One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing.
Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenalin, cortisol and norepinephrine, are also reduced. Studies indicate that high levels of stress hormones impair the immune system.
Some of the physical benefits of massage therapy include:
reduced muscle tension
stimulation of the lymphatic system
reduction of stress hormones
increased joint mobility and flexibility
improved skin tone
improved recovery of soft tissue injuries
